Portugal News August 2022 We have received a new report supported by GARDE! W Hotel Algarve is the Marriott’s first foray into Portugal for the W brand.The entryway is hallmarked by a fluid, curved feature wall adorned with infinity mirrors and Portuguese handmade ceramic plates in ethereal greens and blues arranged in an abstract form, creating a mystical underwater feel the moment guests step through the doors.

Hong Kong News April 2022 We have received a new report supported by GARDE! Hutong Restaurant serves Northern-style Chinese cuisine with a modern twist. The interior design is inspired by the hutongs (alleys) of old Beijing, with handmade screens, bright red rickshaws, blue and lilac lighting on hand-carved wood panels, and handmade grand lanterns with colorful silk tassels like those in the Forbidden City.

ADF Milano Salone Design Award 2022 - General Evaluation of Judges Milano Salone Design Award 2022, sponsored by NPO Aoyama Design Forum (ADF), is an international design award for designers and creators from all over the world. After about 3 months, 3 works from 3 groups were announced on January 28 via the ADF's email magazine and website, winning the Best Performance Award and the Outstanding Performance Award.

South Africa News June 2021 We have received a new report supported by GARDE! We would like to introduce the Kruger Shalati? The Train on the Bridge. A hotel inside converted 1950s train cars located on the top of the Selati Bridge and suspended over the Sabie River in South Africa’s Kruger National Park. The hotel comprises 31 rooms which provide guests unparalleled views of the Kruger National Park and the majestic Sabie River below.

In his seventh volume (part 2) of his report series on old Japanese house, he explains how the usage and characteristics of the "tokonoma" has changed during the course of the history.

"ADF Milano Salone Design Award 2021" Interviews with the Winners Part. 1 We interviewed Boey Wang and Alexander Schul, who won Outstanding Performance Awards at the "ADF Milano Salone Design Award 2021" sponsored by Aoyama Design Forum (ADF). We asked some questions such as their submitted works, their thoughts on art and prospects.

VASE NA by Bo Zhang "VASE NA" by a contemporary artist and designer, Bo Zhang, is to integrate the lines and color into the space and present the seemingly existing space, but there is no actual existence. Usually vase is container with borders. VASE NA’s design use white frame，color paint，pattern, and angle transformation to break the inherent space constraints, color constitute the body of vase， embodying sense of depth，change and realism. The concept between virtual and real: create a vase in space with gradient colors from different small frames. But the vase does not exist, it is just a space with color, which creates a sense of space but no boundaries. Different experiences of angle transformation: Moving the line of sight, the color of the vase will change. changing the perspective, the interwoven frame structure will produce depth, level changes and 3D effects. These design elements have led people to a “visual roaming”.

【ADF Web Magazine】Ahsa Farmstay Vernacular Architecture Plays a Huge Role in Sustainable Tourism Ahsa Farmstay offers tourists from all over the world to be hosted in the farm stay in Chiang Rai, northern Thailand. This project allowed the architects to consider a relationship between architecture and culture. In Chiang Rai, as in other rural areas of the country, traditional building techniques are not passed down from generation to generation. As people's life styles are changing, their traditional homes are becoming less relevant. Vernacular houses are either improperly adapted to "modern extensions" or dismantled and sold as recycled wood.

In the artwork by Matthias Oostrik, passersby activate surging light projections that illuminate the narrow sidewalk and weathered walls of the underpass.
