【ADF Web Magazine】Ethereal Presence at K3, Kukje Gallery in SeoulFounded in 1982 by Lee Hyun Sook, Kukje Gallery in Seoul, South Korea has established itself as a key promoter of Korean Dansaekhwa art and a platform for international contemporary artists like Alexander Calder and Jean-Michel Othoniel. The gallery's K3 building, designed by New York-based SO-IL, stands out with its ethereal architecture featuring a stainless steel chainmail mesh facade. This design, crafted with 510,000 individually welded rings, blends modern innovation with traditional craftsmanship, creating a smooth, light, and flexible outer layer that complements the gallery's surroundings near the Gyeongbokgung historic palace. The K3 building, completed in 2012, reflects Kukje Gallery's commitment to architectural excellence and its role in integrating contemporary art into Seoul's rich cultural landscape.
