【ADF Web Magazine】From Loft to Tokyo: Adventures of a Mary Quant Dress

Jenny Fenwick shares an unique story with a Mary Quant dress she bought when she was 17. She learned about the planned Mary Quant exhibition at the V&A Museum in London and emailed the V&A's costume department about the dress. She eventually received a response from the curator, who said the dress was "very special" and they wanted to see it. She took it with her to London. Scheduled for completion in 2021, the CASAMIRADOR Savassi residential building is located in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil, and features bold architecture that stands out in the local landscape. The building, with 14 lofts and 24 studios, spans nine stories on a narrow lot with a width of 12.7 meters. The challenge of volumetric mathematics to maintain spacing was one of the factors that influenced non-obvious decisions and resulted in an architecture with its own identity.

ADCO Realty commissioned Kripper Studio to restore and completely redesign a historic Victorian-style home into a modern and elegant duplex with expanded living space. The original single-family home was converted into a duplex in the 1990s. Kripper Studio focused on embracing the potential of the entire building and creating two reconfigured, modern, self-contained apartments within the architectural charm of a century-old Victorian home.
