ADF Design Award 2026 Winners Announced 26 03 10 UP NPO Aoyama Design Forum (ADF), a non-profit organization, announced the results of the judging for the "ADF Design Award 2026", an award for architects from around the world, and has decided on the Grand Prize-winning work and the Excellence Award. The Grand Prize went to KEISUKE KOIKE (Thirdparty / K2YT). The Excellence Award went to Jeravej Hongsakul (IDIN Architects) and Jannis Renner（ATELIER BRÜCKNER）. Congratulations to all the winners.

【ADF Web Magazine】When geology becomes art 26 03 10 UP Roger Caillois’s remarkable mineral collection, where science meets aesthetics, is now on display in Paris at the École des Arts Joailliers. The exhibition presents more than 200 extraordinary stones gathered during Caillois’s travels across the Americas and Asia between 1952 and 1978. Fascinated by minerals as “objects at the crossroads” of geology, art, and philosophy, Caillois saw nature itself as an artist shaping intricate forms through time and pressure. Agates, septaria, and crystalline structures reveal landscapes, patterns, and imagined worlds within stone. Blending scientific curiosity with poetic imagination, the exhibition invites visitors to rediscover the mysterious beauty of the mineral world.

NY Build EXPO, New York’s Largest Construction & Design Show, Returns to the Javits Center on March 18ー19 26 03 03 UP New York’s largest construction and design trade show, NY Build EXPO, will take place on March 18 (Wednesday) and March 19 (Thursday) at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center. Officially supported by the State of New York, the event is recognized as the leading construction exhibition serving New York and the wider Tri-State area. ADF (Aoyama Design Forum) will support Chicago Build Expo 2026 as a media partner.

Berlin News March 2026 26 03 03 UP We have received a new report supported by GARDE! The Alchemist, a popular high-end cocktail bar from the UK, has made its German debut at “The Playce” in Berlin’s Potsdamer Platz. Its dark, dramatic interior?featuring brass accents and cascading metal chain curtains?draws inspiration from the world of alchemy. Cocktails served in this theater-like setting taste even more exceptional. Amid Berlin’s growing number of Japanese-inspired listening bars, “migas” offers an exceptional musical experience. Created by its Spanish owner, the space is defined by concrete and wood, revealing distinct expressions by day and night. Soundproof ceiling panels and partitioning shelves introduce a unique rhythm. Light reflecting off mirrors and the floor creates depth, and the shimmering effect feels almost musical.

The exhibition will be held from 2 to 13 March 2026 at GARDE Gallery in Omotesando, Tokyo.

Thailand News February 2026 26 02 24 UP We have received a new report supported by GARDE! Dib Bangkok, Thailand’s first museum dedicated to international contemporary art, opened in December 2025. The museum was created through the renovation of a three-story warehouse originally built in the 1980s. The project was initiated by the late Phetch Osatanugra, a businessman and prominent art collector from the Osott Spa Group family, and is now led by his son, Prat Osatanugra. Focusing on contemporary art from the 1960s onward, the museum holds more than 1,000 works by over 200 artists, spanning painting, sculpture, photography, large-scale installations, and new media. Notable artists include Montien Boonma, Lee Bul, Anselm Kiefer, and Alicja Kwade. Designed by WHY Architecture, Dib Bangkok features a variety of exhibition spaces that make use of its industrial architecture, including the iconic conical gallery known as the “Chapel.”

ARCHIDEX 2026 to Take Place in July at MITEC, Marking Its 25th Edition 26 02 09 UP ARCHIDEX, Asia’s Leading Architecture Business Event, will return from 29 July to 1 August 2026 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), Kuala Lumpur. NYC News January 2026 26 02 03 UP We have received a new report supported by GARDE! Faena Hotel is a luxury hotel and lifestyle brand founded by Argentine entrepreneur Alan Faena. Following its flagship properties in Buenos Aires and Miami, the brand’s third location has opened in New York City. The New York property places art and performance at its core, with the internationally acclaimed Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) commissioned to design the architecture and spatial concept. More than a place to stay, the hotel is conceived as an immersive cultural experience. Artworks and site-specific installations are integrated throughout the corridors, lobby, and lounges, transforming the act of staying into a continuous encounter with art. Envisioned as a “cultural device where art, food, music, and architecture intersect,” Faena New York is attracting attention as a new kind of destination-one that is both luxurious and avant-garde, while actively stimulating guests’ intellectual curiosity.
