Rendering the Changing Body and Mind Through Painting
ADF (NPO Aoyama Design Forum) is pleased to present "Yosuke Yamanouchi", the 41st exhibition of the "ADF Art Gallery Project" by Yosuke Yamanouchi, from April 17 to April 30, 2026, at GARDE Gallery in Omotesando, Tokyo.

"Oilyfall"
Year: 2026
Oil on canvas
P100 (1620×1120 mm)

Yamanouchi, a native of Aichi Prefecture, has participated in numerous solo and group exhibitions to date. In this exhibition, Yamanouchi—who turns 30 this year—presents a collection of works that document the ever-changing state of his mind and body through painting.

Trees that flourish with lush greenery in summer turn colorful and bear fruit in autumn, then shed their leaves in winter. In spring, they sprout anew all at once. As the seasons turn and the years pass, a sapling grows into a mature tree, eventually aging and decaying. Humans, too, are influenced by their environment and relationships as time goes by, undergoing constant physical and mental changes. There are times when we are at our peak, and times when we experience the harsh “winter of life.”

"Reproduction"
Year: 2026
Oil on canvas
P6 (410×273 mm)

Perhaps Yamanouchi seeks to document and affirm these ever-changing states of mind and body through painting. For Yamanouchi, a work of art is the “fruit”—a unique record of life—nurtured by a single “tree” (the artist) as it grows and lives.

"Flow"
Year: 2026
Oil on canvas
P30 (910×652 mm)

"Untitled"
Year: 2026
Oil on canvas
S10 (530×530 mm)

"Budding"
Year: 2026
Oil on canvas
P80 (1455×970 mm)

As the artist reaches the milestone of turning 30, we invite you to view this exhibition, which serves as a record of the “life” he has lived thus far and the “life” he will continue to create.
