Report on the Milano Salone Design Award -The Milano Salone del Mobile-
11th April 2019 was one of the central days of the most outstanding global event for design: The Milano Salone del Mobile. More than fashion, more than any other creative activity in the Italian pulsating centre of creativity, the Salone is an event that attracted a multitude of visitors from an incredible variety of sectors directly or indirectly connected to design.
It is in this context that ADF organizes every year a “Fuori Salone” (Outside the Salone) event in the premises of Garde Italy office located in the trendy district of Via Tortona 37.
This year was the occasion for ADF to showcase two events in a single shot: a piece of furniture (Utsuroe) that is presented every year for the event and the Milano Salone Award.

Business partnership with the Association of Siamese Architects under Royal Patronage
NPO Aoyama Design Forum (ADF) has signed a business partnership agreement with the Association of Siamese Architects under Royal Patronage (ASA) in Thailand to interact with architects and designers of both parties, continuing from 2017 to 2018. As a result of this agreement, ADF will encourage opportunities to train Japanese and Thai architects and designers, improve the social status of them, and interact with each other. ADF will continue to provide a higher quality of design information than ever before. Furthermore, as part of the relationship, ADF has partnered with ASA to invite the ASA International Design Competition winner to Japan for research studies and cultural exchange.

Call For Entries: ASA International Design Competition 2019!
The Association of Siamese Architects under Royal Patronage (ASA) in Thailand announces the ASA International Design Competition 2019. This year is dedicated to fresh ideas in sustainability – approaches so radical, unanticipated, and transformative they earn the epithet ‘uncanny’. This competition aims that the applicants present ideas that surprise and challenge our assumptions and widen our views of what is possible.
The competition is also open to all entries from students, architects, urban planners, designers, artists, and thinkers. No restrictions on age, gender, or nationality. Besides, the registration is free. Please apply if you are interested!

The inaugural Design Anthology Awards results were officially announced at an event held at Hong Kong luxury hotel The Murray on February 22, 2019.Design Anthology has created the Awards programme to acknowledge the importance of design in today’s culture and industry, and recognize the talent and vision in the region.

Best Graduates Award 2018 of the Polytechnic University of Milan!
ADF(NPO Aoyama Design Forum) participated as one of the supporters in the Premio Neolaureati 2018 Awards ceremony of the Polytechnic University of Milan(Politecnico di Milano), which has produced prominent architects and designers.
This award provides opprtunity for letting newly graduat to getting into real filed problems and also allows their outstanding thesis open to the public.

We are pleased to announce that NPO Aoyama Design Forum will be offering our first co-sponsored award,“ADF Design Award 2019”, with the cooperation of The Association of Siamese Architects under Royal Patronage (ASA).
The theme of the award is “Restructuring the Asian Depopulating Community Through Architecture”. In some regional communities in Asian countries, depopulation has become a serious problem. Considering the way the residents are living in the areas and the way these existing communities should be, how do you think you can help rebuild the area as a sustainable community through architecture? ADF proudly supports "The REKA International Design Award (RIDA) 2018" which was established by The Malaysian Institute of Interior Designers (MIID) to celebrate outstanding interior design ideas. MIID is the national institute representing the interior design profession in Malaysia.
RIDA 2018 is continuing this year in search of design excellence across the Asia Pacific region. This is to recognize talented designers, interior designers and architects around the Asia-Pacific region that have created value to living and commercial spaces.

The Design Anthology Awards 2019 Calls for Entries!

The Design Anthology Awards 2019 submission portal is open and accepting entries until 30 September 2018. There is a total of 21 awards over three categories: People, Places, and Products. ADF supports this Awards as one of the sponsors.
The Design Anthology has a stellar lineup of judges: Soo Khian Chan of SCDA, Aric Chen of M+ Museum, Njusja de Gier of kvadrat, André Fu of AFSO, Lyndon Neri and Rossana Hu of Neri&Hu, Peer Linder of bulthaup, Joyce Wang of Joyce Wang Studio, and Marisa Yiu of ESKYIU and Design Trust.

Aoyama Design Forum (ADF) is looking for information on projects (architecture, product design, hotel, condominium, residential, restaurant, and bar) for “Design Anthology” , which have been completed recently or are to be completed soon from the designers and owners. The target projects are within the Asian region or international design projects by designers based in Asia.
