The 8th edition of the Architecture Drawing Prize is open for submissions until 12 September 2025. Organized by the World Architecture Festival (WAF) in partnership with Make Architects and Sir John Soane’s Museum, the Prize returns after a two-year hiatus. Launched in 2017, it celebrates and showcases the artistry and skill of architectural drawings across multiple formats. NPO Aoyama Design Forum supports the Prize as an official media partner.
Purpose of the Award
Inspired by great architects of the past, from Palladio and John Soane to Le Corbusier and Cedric Price, the Prize explores how drawing continues to advance architecture today.
It embraces the creative use of digital tools and renderings, while also recognizing the enduring importance of hand drawing.
Judging
In 2025, judging will not be divided into categories but conducted on an overall basis. Multiple winners will be selected, and a special prize will be awarded for hand drawing, highlighting the origins of the Prize.
WAF welcomes all types of drawings—conceptual, technical, construction, cutaways, or perspectives.
Eligibility and Evaluation
The competition is open to architects, designers, and students worldwide. Entries will be judged on technical skill, originality, and the ability to communicate an architectural idea.
Submissions can be speculative or based on real-world projects.
