Architectural Design Award “World Architecture Community Awards” Announces its 40th Cycle Winners

The World Architecture Community has announced the winners of the WA Awards 10+5+X 40th Cycle in the Architecture and Interior Design sections. WA The Awards showcase 43 different winning projects from 17 different countries with a fantastic mix of building types ranging from China to Italy, Turkey to the United Arab Emirates. The winning countries are Vietnam, China, India, Sri Lanka, Italy, the United States, Kazakhstan, Iran, Mexico, Turkey, Moldova, Bangladesh, the United Arab Emirates, Greece, France, Germany and Japan. ADF (NPO Aoyama Design Forum) has continuously supported the award as one of the media partners.

WA Awards 10+5+X 40th Cycle Architecture/Realised category

In the Architecture-Realised category, Zaha Hadid Architects won the WA award with 2 projects: Infinitus Plaza from China and the 3D-printed Striatus Bridge in Italy, selected by the votes of honorary members and winners of previous cycles in the Realised category and democratically chosen by the votes of the members of the WAC community.

In addition, VTN Architects' Binh House in Vietnam and Srijit Srinivas' Brick Lattice House in India, ROOM + Design & Build's TREE-HOUSE in Vietnam and Damith Premathilake's Holiday Retreat At Diyathalawa in Sri Lanka are among the 40th Cycle winners in the Realised category.

In the Architecture/Designed category, the Amar Villa by Studio Symbiosis in India, the Museum by Alper Aytac DE Bodrum in Turkey and the Museum Of Life by Davood Boroojeni Office in Iran were awarded the WA Awards, selected by the votes of honorary members and winners of previous cycles in the Design category and democratically determined by the votes of the members of the WAC community.

Moreover, Yazgan Design Architecture's Courtyard Villa in Kazakhstan, Aplus Architects' Tiny Club House in Vietnam have been selected by the Votes of Honorary Members and Winners in earlier cycles in Designed category and selected democratically, through the Votings of WAC Community Members.

Selection Criteria

The competition has 2 selection criteria; One by the Votes of its official jury, composed of honorary members and previous' cycle winners, delivering 10 awards, in each of the three categories (Realised, Designed and Student).

Another by the Votes of WAC's registered members who decide to Vote, which makes the +5, a totally democratic selection.

In a category, if there are less than 15 submissions in total, in that case, 2/3 of the submitted projects that have the higher votes by the cycle's official jury and 1/3 of the submitted projects that have the higher votes by the registered members are awarded.

41st Cycle of WA Awards is Now Open for Submission

The 41st Cycle of WA Awards is now open for submissions until 8 July 2022.
