ADF Art Gallery Project vol.8 「My Images of Yoshio Nakajima 2」

ADF will host photographer Sakae Okatomi 's exhibition "My images of Yoshio Nakajima 2" as the 8th ADF Art Gallery Project. The exhibition will run from March 8 (Monday) to March 14 (Sunday) 2021.

Profile of Sakae Okatomi
Okatomi continues to photograph Yoshio Nakajima, who is a friend and a brilliant painter, with his own view. He began taking photographs in 1971 under the influence of his parents and majored in commercial art at a university in the United States. He joined Toppan Printing in 2000 , after working for Dentsu, Teichiku Records and Furukawa Mining. He retired from the company in 2019 and currently works as a corporate public relations cameraman and freelancer. As the exclusive cameraman for Mr. Nakajima, he continues to shoot Mr. Nakajima's performance activities and solo exhibitions in Europe, including Sweden, where the artist is based. He also records Nakajima's activities in Japan. He is currently working on a photography book (soon to be released in Japan and overseas) to commemorate Mr. Nakajima's 80th birthday.

Profile of Yoshio Nakajima
Yoshio Nakajima is a painter living in Sweden who was born in 1940 in Saitama Prefecture. He longed for Van Gogh and moved to Tokyo to become a painter. He then traveled to Hong Kong in the year of the 1964 Tokyo Olympics, sold paintings during his performances, crossed the Eurasian continent and started his activities in Europe. He is an artist who has worked with the COBRA (art movement) and achieved many successes.


Works: Japan [Saitama Museum of Modern Art, Nichido Museum, University of Human Arts and Sciences, etc.] Overseas [Antwarp Museum, Stockholm Museum of Modern Art, Auckland Museum, Berlin National Gallery, New York University, etc.] The works are exhibited in more than 100 places around the world. ... Major works - "Another Sun", "Love from the Earth", "Flowers of Light" and many more.
