ADF (NPO Aoyama Design Forum) presents artist Yukie Osa's solo exhibition "Being Here, Being There" as the 48th edition of the "ADF Art Gallery Project" from September 1 to October 7, 2026, at GARDE Gallery in Minami-Aoyama, Tokyo. Osa, an artist who travels around the world while depicting the two sides of everyday life, presents works under the theme "Being Here, Being There." A reception will be held on Friday, September 18, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and everyone is welcome to attend.

Statement
After living through the COVID-19 pandemic, she realized that the everyday life we once took for granted is not permanent, but is constantly changing. We live in a world where nothing is certain. Even so, we continue to search for something that does not change. At the core of her practice is the inseparable duality inherent in things: "cruelty" behind "kindness," "pain" behind "joy," and "coldness" behind "warmth." She believes that accepting what lies on both sides of these contrasts is part of what it means to live.

Her works explore everyday life and change, primarily using animals as motifs. She has worked with a variety of materials and techniques, including "Mokuchōga," which uses woodblock-printing techniques without printing onto paper, instead applying color directly to the carved wood, as well as oil paintings, three-dimensional ceramic works, and works using textiles and leather.
