ADF Art Gallery Project Vol.45 | Artist Takeshi Sumi "Rhythm wears Life" Workshop

As a special event related to the ADF Art Gallery Project Vol.45 exhibition Rhythm wears Life, artist Takeshi Sumi will host two hands-on workshops.

Currently on view at GARDE Gallery, the exhibition presents works in which Sumi applies embroidery and delicate slit techniques to portrait photographs, transforming the fixed nature of photography into new expressions of beauty and interconnected life. During the workshops, participants will have the opportunity to experience the actual techniques used in his artistic practice while receiving guidance directly from the artist. This is a rare opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of his creative process and artistic vision.

Advance registration is required, and participation is limited on a first-come, first-served basis. Participants are welcome to bring their own photographic prints if they wish to apply embroidery or slit techniques to them. We look forward to welcoming you.

Hong Kong News July 2026
We have received a new report supported by GARDE!

Peridot is a cocktail bar and plant-based dining destination located on the 38th floor of The Henderson, a supertall skyscraper in Hong Kong's Central district. Housed within the landmark tower designed by Zaha Hadid Architects, known for its sculptural glass façade, the venue's interior was created by Studio Paolo Ferrari. Conceived around the themes of light, refraction, and immersion, the interior features continuous green-toned plaster surfaces that flow seamlessly from the walls to the ceiling, creating a cocoon-like environment. Frosted acrylic panels, mirrored surfaces, and carefully integrated lighting produce shimmering effects reminiscent of a disco ball. Sculptural furniture and curved architectural forms echo the geometric language of the building itself. The overall color palette is inspired by peridot, the translucent yellow-green gemstone from which the venue takes its name.
