| NYC News January 2026 |
We have received a new report supported by GARDE!
The Studio Museum in Harlem, a key cultural institution located on 125th Street-the main thoroughfare of northern Manhattan and a historically significant center of African American life-completed its major renovation and reopened on November 15, 2025. Since its founding in 1968, the museum has served as a cornerstone of African American art and culture. After seven years of redevelopment, it now returns with a renewed identity. The approximately 82,000-square-foot building features a brownstone-inspired exterior that blends seamlessly with Harlem’s historic streetscape, as well as a soaring atrium filled with natural light. Large street-facing windows extend the museum’s presence into the neighborhood, embodying the architect’s vision of creating continuity between the street and the museum. More than an art institution, it has been reborn as a vibrant cultural hub deeply connected to the community and ready to enter a new era. |

| Opened in March 2024, Huachiao Vibrant Sports Park designed by SoBA (Soft Build Architects) in Kunshan, Suzhou, represents a distinctive approach to urban public space, where traditional cultural imagery is reinterpreted through contemporary sports design. Covering approximately 6,000 square meters along Greenbelt Avenue, the park draws conceptual inspiration from the flowing water sleeves of Kunqu opera, merging centuries-old Chinese aesthetics with the dynamic culture of skateboarding and community sports. |
