NYC News June 2025 |
We have received a new report supported by GARDE!
The Davis Center at Harlem Meer, located in the northeastern corner of Central Park, is a new facility developed by the Central Park Conservancy to help preserve and support the East Harlem community. Founded in 1980, the Conservancy has invested over $1 billion into the continued evolution of Central Park-a vital space for recreation and relaxation-for more than 40 years. This latest project places a strong emphasis on Harlem, located at the northern edge of the park, and comes with a significant budget of $160 million. The Davis Center was designed around four key principles: history, landscape, recreation, and urban life. Its architecture was thoughtfully planned to harmonize with the natural surroundings, blending seamlessly into the trees and landscape. One particularly notable aspect of the design is its adaptability across the seasons: the facility serves as a public swimming pool in the summer and transforms into an ice skating rink in the winter. Accessible and inclusive, the Davis Center offers a variety of free or affordable programs and activities year-round. |

【ADF Web Magazine】Stitched Memories: Do Ho Suh’s Walk the House at Tate Modern |
Do Ho Suh’s long-awaited solo exhibition, Walk the House, now on view at Tate Modern, is a poignant journey through memory, space, and impermanence. In her insightful article, Virginia Alluzzi explores how Suh transforms architectural details from past homes into ethereal fabric sculptures. Through works like Perfect Home and the Rubbing/Loving Project, Suh evokes the emotional weight of migration, memory, and belonging. His delicate recreations invite us not just to observe, but to walk within his world—one stitched together by thread, light, and remembrance. |

【ADF Web Magazine】Paris Gallery Strolls: Sato Gallery |
In a time of economic uncertainty, galleries continue to thrive and play a crucial role in the art world. They provide a space for artists to share their work, foster artistic dialogues, and bring people together through creativity. More than just exhibition spaces, galleries serve as cultural hubs that keep the art scene alive and dynamic. As someone who loves exploring the ever-evolving art landscape, I want to shine a light on some of my favorite galleries in Paris—places that continue to push creative boundaries and make the city’s art scene so inspiring. |
