Since 2006, the World Architecture Community has organized the prestigious and acclaimed World Architecture Community Awards (WA Awards). Until 12 January 2024 (23:59 GMT+0), the WA Awards 10+5+X 46th Cycle is looking for the best, most innovative, and most breathtaking projects worldwide. ADF (NPO Aoyama Design Forum) will support the WA Awards as a media partner.

Call for Entries! “ADF Design Award 2024”
NPO Aoyama Design Forum (ADF) is pleased to announce the 14th edition of the ADF Design Award 2024, an international design award organised by ADF. Award applications will be accepted from Monday 14 August to Friday 22 December 2023, must be received by 22 December 2023 (Japan time). This year, as in previous years, the award theme is 'Architectural Design'. The prize money will be USD 30,000 for the Grand Prize and USD 5,000 for the Award of Excellence in each category, with a total prize fund of approximately USD 50,000.

【ADF Web Magazine】De Zwarte Hond and Loer Architecten Unveil Mercado in Groningen
With the completion of Mercado and the redevelopment of Rode Weeshuisstraat, Groningen city centre’s north side gets a new boost. The building, together with the new Stalplein next to it, embodies an urban transformation geared towards pedestrians and encounters. The design of Mercado and the urban plan for Rode Weeshuisstraat were created by the architectural collaboration of De Zwarte Hond and Loer Architecten on behalf of developers MWPO and Beauvast. Mercado features a monumental plinth with 41 sustainable apartments above it, built by Plegt-Vos.

The University of Michigan has engaged American Campus Communities (ACC) in a public-private partnership (P3) to lead the development of a new residential community that will dramatically reshape Central Campus housing. Together with RAMSA (design architect and architect of record) and Elkus Manfredi Architects (interior architect), the team will create a new residential community with five residence halls totaling 2,300 student beds and a 900-seat dining facility—the largest of its kind among academic institutions.
