“Dezeen Awarads 2022” Longlist Revealed

Dezeen has announced the longlist projects in the architecture, interiors and design category. The longlist for Sustainability and media longlist have also announced, followed by the announcement of the Studio longlist to complete the overall longlist. The projects on the longlist were selected from more than 5,400 entries from 90 countries for the fifth edition of the award - a record-breaking number of entries honouring the world's best architecture, interiors and design, as well as the most outstanding work by studios and individuals. NPO Aoyama Design Forum (ADF) proudly supports the awards again this year as a media partner.

Architecture Longlist

The architecture longlist for Dezeen Awards 2022 features over 300 of the world's best recently completed buildings. The 322 longlisted buildings, which are in the running for awards in the 12 different architecture project categories, were designed by studios from 48 different countries including Peru, New Zealand, Germany, Mexico, Belgium and Japan.

Interior Longlist

The longlist for the interior categories of the "Dezeen Awards 2022" includes more than 280 of the best interiors in the world. This year's longlisted interiors in the 11 interior categories include designs from studios in 37 different countries, including Singapore, Israel, Brazil, Finland, South Korea, Spain and Sweden.

Design Longlist

The design longlists for "Dezeen Awards 2022" features 290 of the world's best design projects. The longlisted design projects in this year's categories feature designs from studios in 36 different countries including Kuwait, Poland, Denmark, Ukraine and Australia.

Sustainability Longlist

Dezeen has announced the sustainability longlist for the 2022 Dezeen Awards, which includes more than 80 of the world's best recently completed sustainable buildings, interiors and designs. Sustainability projects in this year's three categories include designs from studios in 29 different countries, including Uganda, Mexico, Vietnam, Finland and Australia.

Media Longlist

The media longlist for the "Dezeen Awards 2022" includes over 110 of the world's best media projects. The 112 media projects on the longlist, which will be awarded in the five different media project categories, were submitted by studios from 25 different countries, including Ukraine, Portugal, Malta, India, Estonia and Germany.

The Next Stage

In the next phase of Dezeen Awards 2022 will see all longlisted projects will be judged by a panel of 93 leading professionals, including chief juror architect Liam Young, architects Sou Fijimoto, Jo Nagasaka and Yasmeen Lari, designers Marcel Wanders and Alberto Alessi, environmental design writer Katie Tregidden, architectural photographer Simone Bossi, editor-in-chief of WePresent Holly Fraser and digital artist Andrés Reisinger.

The jury will determine the shortlisted projects, which will be announced in September. Another round of judging by the main jury will determine the category winners, which will be announced in October. The winners of each category will compete against each other to select the overall Project of the Year, to be announced in November.

Beginning in mid-September, readers of the Dezeen Awards 2022 will be able to vote for their favourite shortlisted projects and studios. The public vote is independent of the main Dezeen Awards programme, where winners are selected by a panel of industry experts.
