MIID REKA Awards 2021 announces its winners - ADF Award goes to "Jutite Precious Postnatal Care"

The Malaysian Interior Designers Association (MIID), the representative body of the Malaysian interior design industry, has announced the winners of the MIID REKA Awards 2021. As a partner, Aoyama Design Forum (ADF) has supported the awards since 2018. The ADF Awards were newly launched this year and the winner of the second edition was Jutite Precious Postnatal Care by designer Ar. Cheong Kah Yin, Katrine by Hoe & Yin Design Studio.

In recent years, the postnatal care market in Malaysia has evolved from home-based care to corporate-run centres for Malaysian mothers and babies. Our client Precious My Sdn. Bhd. has recognised the growing opportunity for this sector, where there is a need but nothing that matches what new mothers and babies deserve. A quiet place to rest after childbirth, nutritious food to restore health after birth, professionals to care for new mothers and the newborn. Precious My Sdn. Bhd. has observed that postnatal care centres in Malaysia have received many complaints in recent years, and therefore our client has given us the task to eliminate all complaints in recent years. All postnatal care centres in Malaysia have been cutting corners. That is why Precious My Sdn. Bhd. offers accommodation with the standard of a 5-star hotel, where the new mothers and babies can recover better in the next 28 days.

One of the most important elements or spaces that we believe customers are most satisfied with is the lounge and café area. Here, several elements came together to create a luxurious resort ambiance not only for our client, but also for the new moms and babies. The custom black and white marble tiles accentuate the luxury of the interior, followed by the large format wallpaper that emphasises the resort atmosphere with a natural green tropical graphic. The graphics on the wallpapers were carefully selected as they not only look elegant and luxurious, but also contribute to a relaxing ambiance with their soft natural tones. Marble furniture with a mix of rattan furniture gives the lobby and café a luxurious, tropical resort ambiance. Elements such as beading have been used extensively throughout the centre, including the lobby and café, with modern solid vertical beading and gold highlights on all fixed furniture.

The accommodation spaces are another area full of elegant elements that will greatly please clients and their guests. The use of natural solid oak parquet flooring in a herringbone look adds a bit of warmth to each room. The fixed furniture is also mainly oak and is complemented by gold pendant lights and black and white wallpaper with tropical plants that give the room a luxurious feel. A U-shaped headboard with velvet fabric and gold trim is luxurious and elegant while providing a sense of privacy for nursing young mothers. In the bathroom, there are personalised details such as a heat lamp that warms new mothers, an ionised air purifier that eliminates all bacteria and fungi, and an emergency button carefully selected and placed to provide the best support to all new mothers who come to this centre.

The event room, located next to the lounge and café, is the next space that excites customers. The same language is used here as in the lounge and café. The black and white marble-look mosaic floor gives the room a luxurious feel, yet is easy to clean and sanitise. Beautiful arches in the same green as in the lounge and café, with modern vertical beading and gilded sconces create a beautiful backdrop for events such as the weekly yoga classes, candlelight dinners for couples and all parenting classes.
